Julien LOPEZ

Julien holds a degree in Life and Earth Sciences from Versailles Saint-Quentin University and a Master’s degree in Biodiversity Genomics and Environment from the Ecole Supérieure de la Biosphère of the University of Paris-Saclay. He completed a M2 internship in the ProbiHote team in Micalis about complex sugar degradation pathways and use of the genes as markers of a healthy microbiota.

Julien joined the MuSE team as an engineer, to design a ChIP-qPCR experiment around the mismatch repair system during infection of E. coli by a lambda phage. In 2022, he started a PhD in the MuSE team, under the supervision of Marianne De Paepe and Marina Elez, on the origins and the rate of spontaneous mutations in the lambda bacteriophage. He is interested in biodiversity and evolution study through genetics and genomics.
